Cuando el dispositivo est\u00e1 en funcionamiento, el anillo piezoel\u00e9ctrico convierte la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en energ\u00eda mec\u00e1nica en una resonancia de alta frecuencia de la placa perforada que presenta peque\u00f1as y peri\u00f3dicas deformaciones. Este movimiento peri\u00f3dico libera energ\u00eda en el l\u00edquido, lo que rompe su tensi\u00f3n superficial y produce gotitas que son expulsadas, produciendo as\u00ed la atomizaci\u00f3n. La energ\u00eda necesaria para ruptura de la tensi\u00f3n superficial del fluido que provocar\u00e1 la generaci\u00f3n y proyecci\u00f3n de gotas de nebulizaci\u00f3n se consigue con pulsos a frecuencias ultras\u00f3nicas. Para ello se utiliza un cuerpo de pl\u00e1stico ABS para la conexi\u00f3n de los atomizadores con el sistema hidr\u00e1ulico de alimentaci\u00f3n formado por e tubos flexibles de silicona. Por otro lado, para evitar que se crearan burbujas en las tuber\u00edas, se ha decidido utilizar una bomba de bajo caudal (RS PRO 20) para la recirculaci\u00f3n del agua. Tiene un flujo m\u00e1ximo caudal de 650 ml min\u22121 y un consumo de 5W.
